Dear bros,

2020 is definitely the most memorable year of our life time. Covid has brought the entire world to a standstill and taken the lives of many loved ones. For oba, we were also forced to cancel many gatherings including our signature event - the annual dinner.

To sum up the Diocesan Spirit this year, Simon Tang and I have directed this 2020 year end video. Not only do we want to provide a summary on what has happened in the diocesan family this year, we also want to end in a more positive tone with our slogan - STRONGER TOGETHER! By being together, we would be able to navigate the stormy waters safely!!! Enjoy!!!

School Magazine - Mini Steps

I write to enlist your support for the annual edition of our school magazine, the Mini Steps.  It will be published at the end of each school year in July. It is a compilation of our school’s events and activities and it contains all valuable information, records and photographs of the year’s activities, both inside and outside the school. In addition, parents will also receive a complimentary copy of the Secondary Division’s Steps magazine when purchasing the Mini Steps magazine, if so wish. It is our sincere hope that each student will have a set of these magazines.

STEPS, the school magazine published annually, has a long history in DBS.  STEPS has been perused by students, parents, old boys, and friends of DBS, among which are prominent members of society. In recent years, more and more firms have placed advertisements in STEPS. We are writing to appeal for your generous support for this year's publication.

Dear Fellow DSOBA Members, a group of current Diocesan Boys' School Grade 11 students have recently initiated a chartiable event called the "Bag of Joy".  The objective of the initiative is to give out bags of supplies (e.g. sanitary products and dried food) to the needy people (mainly childern from the less prvilieged families and elderlies) in the society who are most affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.  They aim to spread joy and positivity in our community through care packages called “Bag of Joy”. DBS supports the students on this project although the School (nor DSOBA) is officially organizing the event.  The boys would like to call for more support from the Diocesan family.  If you are interested in joining this meaningful project by donating Bag(s) of Joy, kindly contact the Students-In-Charge or Teacher-In-Charge directly (please refer to the appeal message from the Students-In-Charge below):

We are a group of Grade 11 students from Diocesan Boys' School. We aim to spread joy and positivity in our community through care packages called “Bag of Joy”.

Our team is working very hard to gather and deliver Bag of Joy to some of the people most affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. We focus on brightening the lives of low-income elderlies and children because elderlies are the most vulnerable to COVID-19 and children’s well-being had been greatly affected due to prolonged school closure.

We would like to ask you to join us in this meaningful project to spread joy by donating Bag(s) of Joy. You will assemble the Bag of Joy with guidance from our “shopping list”. Each bag will contain 6 items: 2 sanitary products, 2 non-perishable food, and 2 items specific to either the elderlies or children (click here for the Bag of Joy item list). If you would like to donate, please click the link to the google form: https://forms.gle/jgYD6YB1QcLDoPxS7
We will collect these Bags of Joy at designated drop off points or we can even pick up from a location of your choice. We are working with St James Settlement, Family Keepers Foundation, Hong Kong Inner City Ministries and more NGOs to distribute the Bags of Joy to the elderlies and children.
